Waiting – The Van Duren Story

From the ashes of Big Star…
Memphis 1975: singer-songwriter, Van Duren is touted as the next Paul McCartney. Managed by Andrew Loog Oldham and playing with Jody Stephens and Chris Bell of Big Star, Van releases one album and then disappears into obscurity. 40 years later two Australian friends find the lost album and embark on a journey to find out what happened to Van Duren. As they dig deeper, they find themselves a part of the story.

We’ve been sitting on this news for a while now, but it’s time to let folks know. Our dear friend and fellow musician, Van Duren, a Memphis artist, has had a documentary made about him. Please check out the trailer here. Doug, a friend of Van’s for the past 40 years, is also in the movie. Check it out and share it everywhere!!

REPLAY IS OPEN!

Hi Friends,

With COVID-19 upon us all, Replay will be restructuring a bit with these new hours:

Thursday – 12 to 6 Friday 12 to 6 Saturday 12 to 5 Sunday 12 to 5 Monday 12 to 6 Closed on Tuesday and Wednesday. (If these are your only days to come by to shop, please let me know and we’ll work it out. Mary).

We will be implementing some changes within the store, including full compliance of wearing a mask for entrance as well as the entire time within the store.  No mask.  NO entrance.  As most of you know, the size of Replay is not large, so we will also be implementing a maximum number of people, including Doug, at any one time, so there may be a delay on some days.  We want to provide safe distancing for all. If we have a crowd, people will be asked to wait until there is adequate space for safe shopping.

If you’re not comfortable shopping with others, no problem.  Send me a message and we’re happy to provide private shopping times for folks.

Please do not take records out of the covers unless you come near the counter, or you are wearing gloves and a mask. This is better for the records, and you won’t leave germs on them. I appreciate that you might want to check condition, pressings, etc. but PLEASE help us keep everything clean. We will strictly enforce this policy.

Absolutely no records, tapes or CD’s are to be brought into the store without prior permission. We will not be buying any music without an appointment. If we are not too busy, we will look at small collections outside if they are in boxes and are able to be pulled out of your car.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone not wearing a mask.  We will be doing our very best to keep everyone safe, but if you have an issue with this rule, then please, contact us and we’ll be happy to look for items for you and arrange a type of pick-up for you, but we will not have anyone in the store without a mask.

We want to ensure a safe experience for everyone, and with the uncertainties of the virus, we must sacrifice some things.  We ask you for patience and tolerance with yourselves and one another during this time. It’s for all of our health as well as the greater good, and we appreciate your cooperation.

We look forward to seeing you on the 28th!  Doug & Mary #Peace #Love #Vinyl #Music

#ContinuetoFlattentheCurve #ReplayRecords

These policies are subject to change as we move forward.

Week of July 2nd through 6th

Replay will be closed from Monday, July 2nd through Friday, July 6th. We’ll reopen on Saturday, July 7th. As always, we apologize for the inconvenience and wish you all a happy and safe Independence day. We care about you all, so if you’re going to imbibe, please designate someone for your safe travels. We want to see you again.

Peace (Mary & Doug)
